More of our Favorite Things, Part 2

We wanted to share some of our favorite things with you again this week.

Bath & Body Works Wallflowers Home Frangrance's really freshen up the smell of your home.  You put these scent refills into a Wallflower plug in and Abracadabra...your home instanly smells amazing.  My favorite scent is Warm Vanilla, but I have also tried Strawberry.

Need a Quick Chocolate Fix?  Try these Dark Chocolate Nibs from Trader Joes.  It will take you a while to finish them and the entire tin is only 140 calories, so you won't feel so bad after you eat them and your craving will have been satisfied.

John Frieda Clear Shine Luminous Glaze

This is an easy to use gel that boosts shine right in the shower, without affecting your color. Great if you just need a boost of shine. And perfect for when you are between color appointments. All you need to do is shampoo, condition and glaze! It's safe to use everytime you shower or just a few times a week.

Goodie Hair Twists

 They are the perfect way to get your hair up in a quick up-do or bun. Simply pull up the hair how you want it and twist one of these down from the top and twist one up from the bottom. Voila! Instant chic bun!

Garnier, Skin Renew Dark Spot Corrector

This new lotion from Garnier is supposed to reduce the appearance of darks spots from aging, blemishes, etc. Its has pure Vitamin C to break up the dark spots and lift them away. I just started using it a few weeks ago, but I feel like its working. My skin just looks better. And it will get better the longer I continue to use it. It contains SPF to keep away the harmful rays.  Bonus! It smells amazing! I would use it on that alone.




Adele's 21 Album

I listen to this album almost every day! Adele is so talented. I love every song on it. Her voice is amazing!

The Emmy's Fashion Hits and Misses

The Emmy's are not only the best award show for our favorite television stars and programs. It is also one of the best nights for Hollywood Fashion! The red carpet pre-show is seriously one of my favorite things to watch!  Reds were seen the most on the red carpet this year.

Here are some of our favorites looks of the night and fashion bombs as well.

Kate Winslet, She was one of the red beauties and she looked stunning in this dress.



Sofia Vergara, the Modern Family actress looked gorgeous  from head to toe.



Julie Bowen from Modern Family as well looked great! Loved it!



 Christina Hendricks from Mad Men, I really liked this. She didn't have her girls out as much as she sometimes does. Loved the dress color with her hair too.







Misses of the Night

Gwyneth Paltrow, She usually looks fabulous but I am not a fan of this dress and the whole bare mid-riff section.




Heidi Klum, She may produce and judge Project Runway but her dress was a miss this year.





Jayma Mays from Glee, Not a fan of this ballerina-ish/cake-topper look.






Julianna Margulies, So glad this Good Wife won the Emmy but I wasn't a fan of this boxy top of her dress.

2011 Emmy's, Our Favorite Moments

The 2011 Emmy's were last night. The best night for all our favorite television shows, actors and actresses.

Here are our top 5 favorite moments of last night!

5- The queens of comedy in a beauty pageant.

For the best actress in a comedy category, the actresses one by one joined each other on the stage, as their name was called. They were holding hands as if in a beauty pageant before the winner was announced. And the hilarious hometown girl, Melissa McCarthy (from Bridesmaids) won for Mike and Molly. Love all these funny ladies!



4- Mark Walberg

I had to throw my boy in here. He looked good last night! He also received a couple shout outs, from Boardwalk Empire's Martin Scorcese and as the producer of anything HBO (He's the producer of both hits Entourage and Boardwalk Empire).


3- Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon fight. I love anything my boy Jimmy Fallon does. The two Jimmy's were hilariously picking a fight and then rolling around on the floor before presenting their award. I just wish their mikes were working a little better to hear what all went down.




2- Jersey Shore Skit, where Jane Lynch got all Jersey-ed up as Donatella the creator of anything Jersey on Television: Jersey Shore, Real Housewives of New Jersey. She was hilariously dipping her make-up brush in a bag of Cheetos before applying to get her Jersey glow!



1- Lonely Island Performance

In case you don't know who The Lonely Island is, its a musical trio made up of SNL digital-short writers, Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Toccone. They had a star-studded performance featuring Akon, Michael Bolton, John Stamos, Maya Rudolph and Ed Helms.

Crock Pot Girls

Crock Pot Girls, You may have noticed that all of your Facebook friends recently have started liking this page. But what is it?

Crock Pot Girls, is just three moms who got together and created a Facebook page sharing their favorite Crock Pot recipes. It's become a huge phenomenon, within two weeks they had over a million 'likes'.

Copycats are even starting to pop up on Facebook. So much so that the original 'Crock Pot Girls' put a note on their page, saying this was their only Facebook page and others even using their pictures, weren't them.

What's with this latest craze? Or have Crock Pots always been the go-to meal maker?

I remember my mom making crock pot dishes when I was little. I bought my own crock pot a few years ago.



It really is the easiest way to make a delicious meal, whether you are busy working or busy with your kids. But it seems like it's cool again to use the crock pot.

So crock on!

This is how you know that you are in the 28-35+ years old...

Making that big giant step from your early 20's to your late twenties and then your thirties can sting. 

Teenage boys no longer stare at your chest.
You started finding talk radio to be interesting.
You either go out Friday or Saturday, but not both...that would be crazy.
It makes your day when you get carded for alcohol.
You nap....because you need to.
Blasting your car music is a little embarrassing.  That is why you quickly turn the tunes down the second you get to a stop light.
You accidentally catch yourself saying "OMG, when I was your age..."
All of the creepy people from your highschool start contacting you for dates.
You are generally the oldest person at a Lil Wayne concert.
People call you Ma'am instead of Miss.  Word to the wise...never call a female Ma'am....unless you are ready to get the stink eye.
You have nightmares about your boss and work. You might even wake up in a cold sweat. 
Book clubs are cool.  So is volunteering, pumpkin patches and apple picking.
You're not scared to yell at your neighbors for whatever stupid sh*t they are doing. 
You want more money $$$.  Okay okay...that's probably something you have always wanted.
You still watch MTV shows (i.e. Teen Mom, Awkward, Teen Wolf, Jersey Shore, The Challenge, Real World).
You begin dreading your mail.  Bills, bills and more bills.  It's a perk when you get a wedding invitation and your Victoria Secret catalog. Woot Woot
Half your friends are on anxiety pills.
Motion sickness!  On a bus, in a car, on a train and definitely on a boat. 
You get frustrated when your friends steal your baby names.  Can we say Rachel and Monica. ;)
You might borrow your friend's kid to pick up chicks if you're a guy and you might borrow your friend's dog to pick up hot guys if you are a girl.  Not that I have ever done this....

Fall TV Preview of Ringer

If you have been missing Sarah Michelle Gellar, you will love the CW's new show, Ringer. You get double the Sarah. 



SMG plays twins who have had a falling out. One, Bridget, a recovering addict who witnesses a mob hit. The other, Siobhan, who's married life in New York, seems perfect. Bridget fearing for her life makes a move to New York to hide and try to re-connect with her sister. But Siobhan has an accident and disappears, when Bridget decides to take her place. Little does she realize that Siobhan's life is not as wonderful as it looks. From problems in her marriage to someone trying to kill Siobhan, Bridget may have made the wrong decision for a safer life.


For those CW fans, if you remember the show Life Unexpected (Still sad that show was cancelled), Lux's dad is Kristoffer Polaha, who plays the husband of Siobhan's best friend and Siobhan's lover.

Are we in a fashion crisis?

Have you looked at this years fashion and asked yourself...Why?  Why are they selling this?  Why would anyone design an outfit like this?  Some of the styles the big name stores are selling are really different.

Diane Von Furstenberg has this strange senorita look in their Fall Look Book.  Let me ask...would you do a double take if you saw someone wearing this outfit on the street? Uhh...........yeah!

At least this summer's Harem Pants are now out of season...I hope! I am anti-Harem Pants.  These are NOT flattering...no matter what you tell yourself.  Can we just leave the 80's behind?!?!
